The Certificate IV of Finance and Mortgage Broking is a comprehensive course suitable for the professional development of mortgage brokers and originators. Once you have successfully completed this course you will have fulfilled the educational requirements to become a mortgage or finance broker and to join the FBAA or  MFAA . The MFAA , some lenders and  industry groups may also require enrolment or completion of Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management – FNS50322.

This Certificate IV course provides you with a balance of theoretical knowledge and industry-based case studies. You will develop practical skills that can be immediately applied to the industry to produce results within the marketplace. This course provides practical tools to help you succeed in the mortgage and finance industry.

You will find the course engaging, contemporary, and results-focused. If you attend a workshop, you will benefit from our trainer’s experience as they share their extensive knowledge, providing relevant information that is delivered in a motivating and enlightening manner.  Trainees have six months in which to complete their course but the structure of the course is such that the course can be completed as quickly or as slowly as you like within this time.

The Certificate IV level qualification is recognised as the minimum educational standard required by ASIC, industry associations and lenders within Australia.

This Certificate IV provides you with the fundamentals of operating in the finance/mortgage broking industry. An overview of Financial Markets, Economic Environment, and Regulatory Framework is provided before the specifics of Loan Products, Loan Application, and Business Management are addressed.

You should undertaking the Certificate IV if:

  • You believe you would enjoy working in the mortgage broking industry and are looking to gain not only the formal qualification but also guidance, skills, and tools necessary for future employment.
  • You are currently working for, or as, a mortgage broker or similar and are looking to formalise your skills and knowledge.
  • You are working for a mortgage manager, bank, credit union, building society, or similar and are seeking employment (including self-employment) as a mortgage broker.
  • You are currently outside the industry and are considering entering the finance/mortgage broking or lending industry.
  • You are considering buying a mortgage franchise and would like to know more about the industry before you commit.

This course is accredited as a vocational education qualification within the Australian Qualifications Framework.

You may also like to consider if you should undertake the Diploma of Finance and Mortgage management . The Diploma course is structured for you to achieve your Certificate  IV qualification while working towards the full Diploma. This can assist you to get started in the industry in the minimum period of time.
